This project involved the installation of an underground septic system in Redditch to support nearby gym and yoga/pilates buildings, providing a reliable solution for sewage processing while preparing the site for future development.
The Situation
The Redditch site required a dedicated sewage solution to service nearby gym and wellness buildings. With no existing infrastructure in place, a new system needed to be installed that could handle current demand while also allowing for future expansion.
The long-term plan includes the construction of a toilet block, which will be built directly above the septic tank, making correct installation and positioning essential from the outset.

The project required careful planning and accurate execution to ensure the system would function efficiently both now and in the future.
Our Approach
We began by excavating the area in Redditch to accommodate the QUANTUM 10 underground septic tank, allowing sufficient clearance around the unit and preparing a stable working area.
A concrete base was installed to provide a solid, level foundation for the tank. The unit was then carefully lowered into position and aligned to ensure correct inlet depth and orientation.
Approximately 30 metres of 4-inch waste pipe was installed, laid to a consistent gradient of 20mm per metre to ensure effective flow throughout the system.
Once the pipework connections were completed, the tank was backfilled in controlled layers while being filled with water to maintain stability and prevent movement.
To complete the installation, 8 tonnes of pea gravel were supplied and installed over the tank, providing protection and aiding drainage around the system.
Electrical components were connected and the system was commissioned to ensure proper operation and airflow.

- QUANTUM 10 septic tank successfully installed in Redditch
- Stable concrete base and secure positioning achieved
- 30m of waste pipe installed with correct gradient
- Backfilled and protected with 8 tonnes of pea gravel
- System fully connected and operational
- Site prepared for future toilet block installation
